Stechford retail park is to get an inflatable new attraction - where customers are the bouncers

Birmingham is set to get its first inflatable theme park.

And that means it's the customers, not the door staff, who will be the bouncers.

The £500,000 attraction in Stechford will include everything from a drop slide to ball pool, climbing wall and a Gladiators’ -style duel platform.

Like the Inflata Race two-lane assault course and a separate dedicated area for under fours, they will include the fun of giant inflatables.

There’s the ‘Inflata Wreck’ – a giant inflatable multi-person wrecking ball game – and the ‘Inflata Grab’, a real-life human version of Hungry Hippos where you have to stretch a bungee cord in a bid to see how many balls you can collect.

Inflata Bubbles has been designed to encourage those who want to do a lot of bouncing around.

Inflata Nation will also offer fitness classes, disability friendly sessions suitable for autistic children etc, grown-ups only sessions and Inflata tots sessions for pre-schoolers.

It also organises stag and hen parties and corporate events.

Although users of existing sites say the activities are physically challenging, you won't need big breaths for the equipment.

Every night the kit is deflated and then quickly reinflated by machine early the next day.

Inflata Nation Birmingham will be based in a 23,000 square foot unit on a retail park in Stechford.

It will have its own car park spaces, too.

Peak capacity will be reached when 100 people are taking part in activities at any one time.

The concept started life as Jump Nation, a Manchester trampoline park company which launched a site near Walsall.

That was sold on to Jump In, but has since closed.

Last year Michelle Ball and partner Matt Ball decided to re-brand and try something new because the market was being saturated with similar trampoline sites.

Inflata Nation opened its first theme park in Manchester last October, followed by a site in Runcorn, Cheshire, in May.

This month (August) it will open a fourth site in Beverley, near Hull.

Inflata Nation co-founder Matt said: “The response in Birmingham and surrounding area has been fantastic.

"We are delighted that enthusiasm for the new theme park is so high and we can’t wait to open.”

Michelle added: “Birmingham is an exciting new venture.

"It will be our first franchise and show the potential for Inflata Nation to spread across the country and around the globe.
