Mjällby AIF chief executive Jacob Lennartsson has confirmed that Abdoulie Manneh is in negotiations over a transfer after his move to Birmingham City fell through.

BirminghamLive reported on Tuesday that Manneh’s proposed switch to Blues from the Swedish champions had collapsed.

The circumstances around it are unknown but in situations like this there is usually another suitor involved and Lennartsson has told Fotboll Direkt that Manneh has travelled to another club to discuss a move.

Lennartsson said: "We can confirm that Abdoulie Manneh has been given permission to visit another club for a potential transfer.

"At this point, we can neither confirm whether the deal will go through, nor whether it will not. As negotiations are currently underway between both the clubs, as well as between the player and the purchasing club."

Manneh has attracted plenty of interest after a breakthrough season in the Allsvenskan in which the 21-year-old provided seven goals and three assists in 28 appearances.

Before Blues made their move, Manneh was linked with transfers to Olympiacos, Coventry City and Bournemouth.
