Aston Villa complete January transfer as fee and sell-on clause confirmed

Aston Villa have completed another January transfer window deal.

Finley Munroe has left Villa Park for Middlesbrough in a £300,000 deal, with the Villans inserting a 30 percent sell-on clause.

Villa confirmed the player’s departure in a statement which read: “Aston Villa can confirm that Finley Munroe has been recalled from his loan at Swindon Town and has joined Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee.

“The versatile left-footed player's spell in Wiltshire saw him make 27 appearances in all competitions and score twice for the Robins during the first part of the campaign.

“Munroe joined the Villa Academy from Chelsea in July 2021, signing his first professional contract a year later. He made his senior debut in 2024, coming off the bench against Olympiacos in a UEFA Conference League semi-final, then making his Premier League bow against Crystal Palace.”
