Terminally-ill Kidderminster man charged with 'public order' offences - Birmingham Live

A terminally-ill man from Kidderminster has been charged following an incident in the town last year. West Mercia Police has said Darrell Meekcom, of Coley Close, has been charged with two section five public order offences and obstructing or resisting an officer in execution of their duty.

The force added that the 55-year-old that the charges relate to an incident on November 5, 2021 and that he is due to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on May 17. Mr Meekcom, a retired university lecturer and registered nurse, suffers from multiple system atrophy (MSA) and recently made headlines after his bucket list included mooning at a speed camera.

West Mercia Police has said it cannot comment on Mr Meekcom's charges. A police spokesperson said: "As legal proceedings are now active, West Mercia Police cannot make any further comment at this time."

Mr Meekcom also claims he has Parkinson's Disease, as well as heart and kidney problems.
