Fake Labubu toys, illegal tobacco and potentially unsafe food products were all seized from shops in Willenhall.
Nine shops in the town centre were visited by Walsall Council’s Trading Standards team on October 7.
The routine inspections, which were supported by West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service, uncovered 960 counterfeit cigarettes in one store - some of which were hidden in an underfloor compartment.

Additionally, 40 fake Labubu toys and accessories were removed from sale, as were unlabelled food items, including meat and fish products.
During the inspections, one business was also instructed to install smoke alarms to bring the premises in line with fire safety regulations.

Councillor Adam Hicken, Walsall's portfolio holder for enforcement and safe communities, said: “This operation shows the range of issues our officers deal with to keep our residents safe.
"Whether it’s counterfeit goods, unsafe food or toys, we take a zero-tolerance approach to anything that puts the public at risk.
"Our message to traders is simple, if you sell illegal or unsafe goods, we will take action.“
The council plans to carry out further follow-up visits to ensure all businesses were fully compliant with safety and trading regulations.
