Birmingham bin strike protestors disrupted fleets this morning, causing 'hours of delays'.


On social media, Birmingham City Council posted: "Once again protesters have blocked our fleet causing delays at Atlas and Smithfield this morning, Thursday, January 15.


"Please leave your bin out as scheduled and we will collect as soon as we can.

"Apologies for the inconvenience."


After disruption at the start of the day, dustcarts were eventually able to leave the depot.

A Birmingham City Council spokesperson said: "There was a few hours delay in vehicles leaving Atlas and Smithfield depots.

"But all crews were out onto their routes by around 10am."
