Tax increases look likely to be confirmed in November after it was confirmed Chancellor Rachel Reeves' Budget would be held then.
There has been mounting speculation over which taxes, if any, will be put up when the Chancellor delivers her financial statement.
The gloomy economic picture appears to make it likely some tax rises will be announced.

The Government has repeatedly ruled out increases targeting "working people" such as income tax, National Insurance and VAT.
But taxes could go up in other areas such as inheritance and property sales.
The Budget will be delivered on November 26, with some tax rises widely expected.
The Chancellor said the economy βisnβt brokenβ but added there was βmore to doβ.
The Guardian reported Ms Reeves has been exploring a number of tax-raising measures over the summer in a bid to boost a flagging economy.
It's also been reported a new tax on the sale of houses worth more than Β£500,000 was being considered.
At Prime Minister's Questions on Wednesday, Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch stressed the country needed answers on tax raises sooner.
Referring to the November Budget date, she asked: "Does he really think the country or the markets can wait that long?"
