Petrol prices in Birmingham remain stubbornly high this week

It's been almost two months since Russia invaded Ukraine and the economic shockwaves the conflict has caused are still being felt across the world. The following oil crisis caused the cost of petrol and diesel to shoot up here in the UK, with prices remaining stubbornly high this week.
In his Spring Statement in March, Chancellor Rishi Sunak tried to give motorists some respite by reducing fuel duty by 5pm a litre. However, a new survey revealed that more than 90 per cent of drivers said it had "zero impact" on their fuel bill.
With motorists looking to make a saving as the cost of living continues to soar, here's a look at where you can get the cheapest fuel in the West Midlands today (Thursday, April 21) according to comparison website PetrolPrices.com. The cheapest petrol stations include those at Morrisons, Tesco Extra and Sainsbury's.

These are the cheapest places to fill up with a litre of unleaded petrol within ten miles of Birmingham city centre. They were accurate between April 13 and April 20.
