I’m A Celebrity contestant Freddie Starr has dropped a jungle bombshell by revealing his secret fetish for cross-dressing.

The 68-year-old shocked his fellow campmates by admitting he enjoys wearing women’s clothes – and even has a female alter-ego.

Within hours of entering the Australian jungle, the comedian announced: “I’m broadcasting it now. I like to dress up in women’s clothes!

Alluding to his preferred choice of outfit, he added: “Spike heels, ahhhh…”

One camper who was delighted with the revelation was glamour model Jessica Jane Clement, who set about putting make-up on Freddie.

Later on, in the Bush Telegraph, she shared more details about the funnyman’s feminine side.

The 26-year-old said: “Apparently he has an alter ego called Thelma….she’s going to make an appearance at a later date.

“I’m worried, because apparently she’s quite horny!”

After confessing to indulging in cross-dressing, Freddie also set the record straight about the infamous ‘Freddie Starr ate my hamster’ tabloid story.

When probed by McFly bassist Dougie Poynter, Freddie denied any involvement, saying: “No, I couldn’t crack its skull. You couldn’t eat a hamster.

“If you were to eat a hamster you’d choke. You couldn’t actually eat a hamster.”

Freddie’s turbulent first day in the jungle was topped off by a trip to hospital after he was taken ill during a Bushtucker Trial.

The star had to be checked out by doctors after reportedly suffering from an allergic reaction following the Greasy Spoon trial.

An ITV spokesman said: "Freddie Starr was taken unwell in the jungle. He was immediately attended to by on-site medics and taken to hospital where he was assessed by doctors.

"He will remain in hospital overnight as a precaution, and further tests continue. However, Freddie is in great spirits and keeping nursing staff entertained."
