Boris Johnson became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in July 2019.
As Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party, Boris Johnson faced many controversies, including the Downing Street Partygate scandal.
He also faced backlash after promoting Chris Pincher to deputy chief whip, despite widespread allegations of inappropriate behaviour.
On July 7 he announced he would be stepping down as leader of the Conservative Party, following a string of resignations which saw more than 50 ministers quid in less than 48 hours.
